Shipping
How does shipping work?
Because hardwood parquet flooring is heavy and fragile, most orders ship via freight (LTL) carriers — typically UPS Freight or GlobalTranz — rather than standard parcel carriers like UPS Ground or FedEx. Freight shipping ensures your flooring arrives safely on a pallet, protected from damage.
Why don't I see a shipping cost until checkout?
Freight rates are calculated in real time based on your order weight, dimensions, and delivery address. Because every order is different, we can't display a flat rate upfront — but you'll see your exact shipping quote before you pay. There are no surprises at the door.
How long does delivery take?
- In-stock items: Orders typically ship within 2–3 business days and arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your location.
- Made-to-order items: Production takes approximately 3–6 weeks before your order ships. We'll confirm the lead time for your specific order at the time of purchase.
What should I expect on delivery day?
Freight deliveries are curbside by default — the driver will bring the pallet to the end of your driveway or nearest accessible point. If you need inside delivery or lift-gate service, contact us before ordering and we can arrange it (additional fees may apply). Please inspect your shipment carefully before signing; note any visible damage on the delivery receipt.
About Unfinished Parquet Flooring
What does "unfinished" mean?
Unfinished parquet flooring arrives raw — the wood has been milled and assembled into tiles, but it has not been sanded, stained, or sealed. This gives you complete control over the final look: you choose the stain color (or keep it natural) and the finish (oil, wax, polyurethane, etc.).
What do I need to do after installation?
After installation, unfinished parquet must be:
- Sanded — to level the surface and open the grain
- Stained (optional) — to add color
- Finished — with your choice of oil, wax, or polyurethane for protection
This work is typically done by a flooring contractor or experienced DIYer. We're happy to answer questions about the finishing process — just reach out.
Can I order a sample before committing?
Yes! We strongly encourage it. You can order sample tiles or boxes to check the wood species, pattern, and quality in your space before placing a full order. Contact us and we'll help you find the right one.
Returns
What is your returns policy?
We accept returns within 60 days of delivery on all items. To be eligible for a return, flooring must be uninstalled and in its original condition. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, which for freight items can be significant — we recommend ordering samples first if you're unsure.
How do I start a return?
Contact us within 60 days of delivery with your order number and reason for return. We'll provide return instructions and a return shipping address. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned goods.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please inspect your shipment before signing the delivery receipt. If you notice damage, note it on the receipt and take photos immediately. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll work with the carrier to resolve the issue and arrange a replacement or refund.
Common Questions
How do I calculate how much flooring I need?
Measure the length and width of your room in feet and multiply to get the square footage. We recommend adding 10–15% overage for cuts, waste, and future repairs. Our team is happy to help you calculate the right quantity — get in touch.
Do you offer installation services?
We sell flooring only and do not provide installation services directly. We recommend hiring a licensed flooring contractor experienced with parquet. Feel free to ask us for tips on finding a qualified installer in your area.
Can I mix parquet patterns or species?
Yes — many customers mix patterns (e.g., herringbone borders with a basket-weave field) or combine species for a custom look. Contact us to discuss your design and we'll advise on compatibility and ordering.
